August 6th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day: Guard, what time is it night?(Isaiah 21,11)

What enemies are out there? Many errors abound and new ones appear every hour. What heresies should we beware of? Sins come out of your ambushes, when darkness reigns. I must climb the tower and watch in prayer. Our heavenly protector sees in advance all the attacks that are about to be launched against us. When Satan wishes evil for us, the Lord Jesus prays for us, so that our faith will not fail when we are tossed about like wheat (see Luke 22:31). Go on, O merciful Guardian, warning us of our enemies, and for Zion’s sake do not reject your peace. “Guard, what time is it at night?” What time is the church waiting? Are the clouds approaching or is everything clear and beautiful? We must care for the church with haunting love; And now that infidelity threatens, let’s look at the signs of the times and prepare for conflict. “Guard, what time is it at night?” What stars can we see? What precious promises are right for us at this time? You sound the alarm, but you also offer comfort. Christ, the pole star, is still in his place, and all the stars are in the right hand of his Lord.

  • Guard.
  • When will the morning arrive? The groom’s late.
  • Hasn’t the morning skylight become the promise of the day? When will the day come out and the darkness will disappear?O Jesus.
  • If today you do not come personally to your church that awaits you.
  • Then come to the spirit in my fiery heart and make him sing with joy.

Now the whole earth is radiant and happy for the new morning; But my whole heart is cold, dark and sad: Alma sun, let me contemplate your sunrise!Come on, Jesus, Lord, Oh, come quickly, according to your word.
