Verse of the Day: The word of the Lord, however, remains forever, now it is the word that has been evangelized to them (1 Stone 1. 25).
All human teachings, and indeed all human beings, will disappear, as will the meadows. This verse assures us that the Word of the Lord has a different character, because it will remain forever.
- In this verse we have a divine gospel.
- Because what other word can remain forever than that spoken by the eternal God?.
In this verse we have a gospel that lives forever, as full of vitality in our time as in the days when it first came out of God’s lips; powerful enough to convince and convert, to regenerate and comfort, to support and sanctify, as it was in the early days when he began to do wonders.
In this verse we have an immutable gospel, which is not shown today as green grass and tomorrow as dried grass; on the contrary, it is always revealed as the permanent truth of the immutable Jehovah. The opinions of men change, but the truth confirmed by God cannot change, just as the God who pronounced it is immutable.
In this verse, therefore, we have a gospel in which we can rejoice, a truth in which we can sustain ourselves throughout our lives. Is it always a word that includes life, death, judgment, and eternity. Glory to God, in Christ Jesus, for eternal comfort. Feed the Word today and every day of your life.
