I hope to obey difficult commandments
Verse of the day: who wants to love life and see happy days?Stay away from evil, do the right thing. (1 Stone 3: 10-11)
- There is only one fundamental reason why we disobey Jesus’ commandments: it is because we are not convinced that obeying will bring more blessings than disobeying; we do not fully await God’s promise.
What did he promise? Peter communicates his teaching as follows
Do not pay badly for injuries or injuries; rather, on the contrary, blessing, because for this particular purpose you have been called, to receive the blessing by inheritance. For those who want to love life and see happy days, to deviate from evil, practice what is right. (1 Peter 3: 9-11).
You’ll always be better at obeying than disobeying, even if it costs you your life.
In truth, I say to you, there is no one who has left the house, no brothers, no sisters, no mother, no father, no children, no fields, for me and for the gospel, who already receives a hundred times more. persecution; and, in the world to come, eternal life? (Mark 10:29-30).
The only way to have the power to follow Christ on the costly path of love is to have hope, with the firm confidence that if we lose our lives doing His will, we will find it and be generously rewarded.
