Verse of the day: The Lord impoverishes and enriches; also rebates and exalts (1 Samuel 2. 7)
All my changes come from the One who never changes. If I’d gotten rich, I’d have seen his hand in this circumstance and praised him for it. I must also recognize God’s hand if I have become poor and, with all my heart, praise him. When we are humiliated in the world, it comes from the Lord; therefore, we have to accept this circumstance patiently. When we are exalted in the world, it is of the Lord; and we must accept this condition with gratitude. In any case, the Lord did; therefore, it is very good.
- It seems that the Lord’s way of working is to reduce those who intend to start and undress those who intend to give birth; If that’s how you act.
- It’s the wisest and best way; if I wear now.
- I’m glad because I look at the prelude to exaltation.
- The more humiliated we are by God’s grace.
- The more exalted we will be in glory.
- We must welcome the impoverishment that will be overcome by our enrichment.
O Lord, for a long time you have lowered me by making me feel my insignificance and my sin; it’s not a pleasant experience, but please make me profitable; Oh, may you, Lord, desire to prepare me to experience a great measure of pleasure and usefulness; and when I’m ready, grant them to me, Lord, for Christ’s sake. Amen!
