Verse of the day: The Lord your God will bless you in everything you do. (Deuteronomy 15:18)
An Israeli master had to grant freedom to his slave in due course; and, when the slave has left his service, the master must help him with a generous part, to begin a new life. It must be done with the heart and with joy; Then the Lord promised to bless this generous attitude. The essence of this precept is, in fact, that of the whole law of Christ, which commands us to treat well those who work for us. We need to remember how the Lord treats us and how He absolutely forces us to treat others gracefully. Being generous is good for all who admit to being the son of a merciful God. How can we expect our great Lord to bless us in our affairs, if we oppress those who serve us?
- What a blessing this verse presents for which you have a generous disposition! To be blessed in all that we do means to be truly blessed.
- The Lord will grant us some of this blessing in our prosperity; on the other hand.
- In our contentment and elsewhere.
- In our sense of favor.
- Which is the best of all blessings.
- He can make us feel that we are under his special care.
- Surrounded by his particular love.
- This transforms this earthly life into a happy prelude to the life to come.
- God’s blessing is more precious than any fortune.
- It enriches us without bringing us sadness.
