Verse of the day: “Here, the veil of the sanctuary has been torn in two, from top to bottom” (Matthew 27. 51).
The tearing of such a dense and strong veil was not a simple display of power. This event was intended to teach us various lessons. The old ordinance law was scrapped and, like worn clothing, it was torn and discarded. When Jesus died, all the sacrifices were finished, because everything was fulfilled in him; therefore, the place where the ordinances were presented was marked with a clear symbol of decomposition. This breaking of the veil also revealed the hidden things of the old dispensation: the mercy seat could be seen; and the glory of God shone upon him. Through the death of our Lord Jesus, we have a clear revelation from God. The Lord Jesus was not like Moses, who covered his face with a veil (see 2 Corinthians 3:13). Life and immortality now come to light, and things that were hidden from the foundation of the world are manifested in Him. With the death of Jesus, the annual atonement ceremony was abolished. The blood of atonement, which was sprinkled on the veil every year, was offered, once and for all, by the great High Priest, and thus the place of the symbolic rite was completed.
- The blood of bulls or lambs is no longer necessary.
- For Jesus entered beyond the veil with his own blood; access to God is therefore permissible and a privilege for every believer in Jesus.
- The veil he showed to the propitiator is not small; extends up and down.
- We can courageously ascend to the throne of heavenly grace (see Hebrews 4:16).
- Would we be wrong to say that the opening of the Holy Place of Saints.
- Made in this wonderful way.
- By the cry of our Lord at the time of his death.
- Was a harbinger of the opening of the gates of paradise for all saints? Our Lord Jesus is a key to heaven.
- He opens it and no one closes it; let us enter with Jesus in the heavenly places and sit with him until the enemies stand under the platform of his feet.
