[AGNOSTO THEO] The parable of the knife

There was a young fool who was given a knife, serrated on one side and blind on the other, the latter received the knife with the blind part up and that’s why he just watched and admired this part, first he started sticking his finger on the same side of the knife and noticed that nothing was wrong with him, after a while he started surrounding it with his arm and realized that nothing was wrong with him either. , so he concluded that the knife was harmless.

When he got home, as excited as he didn’t know, he called his wise mother and showed him the knife and told him that the knife was harmless and to prove it he passed the blind part on his arm. be careful that it was going to be cut.

  • The young man was disgusted with his mother.
  • ” How can such a harmless knife hurt me?”Then he went on to show his madness by showing many how harmless the knife was.

In a demonstration, as a precaution and carelessness, he struck the side of the knife; as he passed it by his arm, he obviously cut himself off and desperately threw the knife and exclaimed:

? It’s not my knife. It could never be my knife. I want my knife

? When I was a young fool, I warned you that you could cut yourself with that knife, but you ignored in your madness that this knife had two sides and that’s why you hurt yourself. I’m glad you’re alive, did he ever think he could have killed himself?

After recovering, the young man, saddened by his madness, returned to the place where he had thrown the knife, when he caught it, a fear traveled his back. Now I knew her, now I really knew her.

Equally foolish is he who only looks at the attributes of God that he likes and does not seek to know him (as much as possible for our little spirits) in the continuation of his majestic character.

“Do you think I’m like you? But now I’m going to charge you directly, without omitting anything. Consider this, you who forget God; otherwise I’m going to break them, without anyone dropping them. ?[ Psalm 50: 21, 22]

We seek to know love, goodness, mercy, and divine grace, but do we seek with the same effort to know the righteousness, anger, sovereignty, holiness, and glory of God?Our knowledge of God must be complete so that we can be complete in Him. If we cling more to some attributes of God and despise others, we end up unconsciously creating our own god: only with what we value, and we reject what we despise.

God is enough for us and we rejoice in Him in all His perfections. I sing with joy to his mercy and bow before his righteousness. I recognize your love that lasts forever, and I fear and tremble at your wrath. God’s attributes are fulfilled; the features of his glorious character form absolute perfection.

Therefore, for saints who have sinned and repent, it is important to remember God’s love and mercy: “Certainly goodness and mercy will follow me every day of my life”!To those who are hardened by sin, it is good to say, “Run away from the divine wrath to come!”To those who suffer unjustly, or to those who deceive, we shout, “Justice is the basis of his throne”!To those who fail, we sing with joy: “He is the strong God ?!

Understand who God is and the basis of a happy and complete Christian life. A healthy Christianity begins with a true knowledge of God. Oh, let us keep our eyes open in our hearts, to see the fullness of his character! Prostrate before God, for all facets of His glory! We love the God of the Bible, the only True One, and not the gods of the nations, invented by the human spirit!
