Before considering Paul’s audacity in preaching the gospel, we must understand something about the gospel he preached. It is a good principle of communication to define the terms before any proper discussion or discussion. This clears the field and allows those involved to know their position and what they mean when they talk. Today’s evangelicals define theological terms so broadly that we can no longer assume that they say the same thing as us, even if they use the same terms. This is especially true in the case of the gospel.
The first thing we should consider in our text is Paul’s defined article, it did not have a gospel that belonged to him. His gospel was not a Pauline gospel as opposed to a Petrine or Jonic gospel. [1] Although some of the personality of these apostles shone through their presentations, the gospel they shared was the same, they knew nothing of the common language these days that speaks of different variations, versions, or flavors of the gospel as if there could be more than one. . Finally, Paul did not have a gospel that was particular at one point in world history. No doubt there have been significant changes in the Roman Empire in every decade he spent during Paul’s life, but he preached the same gospel in his death as he did. preached decades ago at the beginning of his apostolic ministry, he would no doubt be surprised by the conviction of contemporary Christianity that every passing decade brings a new generation that requires a new presentation or adaptation of the gospel.
