A Gospel for All Who Believe (Paul Washer) [26/9]

The call of the gospel is universal. Christ’s redemptive work took place not in a remote corner of the planet, but in the religious center of the world itself [1]. The news of his death and resurrection quickly spread to all acquaintances. [2] Moreover, Christ did not come to save only a certain group of people, but shed his blood to redeem people from all tribes, languages, peoples, and nations [3]. Old Testament prophecies declared that the Messiah would receive nations as a legacy, and the Great Commission is the development of that promise. [4] Christ commanded his church to go all over the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Those who believe and show their faith through their public identification with Christ through baptism will be saved, but those who do not believe will be condemned. [5]

The Old and New Testaments bear full testimony that men can only receive the blessings of the gospel through faith. The creed of Habakkuk is the foundation of every true religion: “the righteous will live by their faith”. [6] These words are the key to salvation and the spark of every true awakening of religion. Without these words, the door of salvation is sealed. The only password for fame is “I believe”. Paul bears witness to this in a passage known for his redundancy: “Knowing, however, that man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, we too believe in Jesus Christ, that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law , no one will be justified.

  • Salvation is not for works for two fundamental reasons: first.
  • Man has no work to show.
  • There is nothing in your life that deserves salvation.
  • But everything that invokes the condemnation of a holy God.
  • It is the testimony of the scriptures that there is no righteous.
  • Not even one.
  • There’s no one to do good.
  • [8] In fact.
  • The best of human labor and his greatest works of altruism are nothing more than rags of filth before God.
  • [9] These truths devastate man’s pride.
  • But they must be pressed against his conscience to extinguish any hope of self-promotion before God and crush any thought of winning the favor of the Deity by the strength of his own arm.
  • By faith only after realizing his condition of helplessness and shouting to the elder hymn author.
  • “I have nothing in my hands.
  • I only care about your cross.
  • “.

Second, salvation is not by works, because it would not glorify God; this would make him a debtor obliged to reward the supposed virtue of the creature. Salvation by works is nothing more than a humanism dressed in religion. It is the mythological man who emerges from the dust with the same force of his will to overcome all adversities and On the other hand, faith is the true religion. He is a man just as he is, “lost and ruined by the fall,” devoid of all self-confidence and trusting in the faithful promise of a saving God. [11] In the epic drama of salvation by faith, God is the hero, and only we praise him highly. As it is written: “Not to us, Eternal, not to us, but to your name, does it give glory?” And “Whoever it is. It boils, let him boast in the Lord. ” [12]
