A few words for Christian university scholars who left home

At the beginning of this article, I would like to introduce you to a brief fictional story about the ‘Involution’ of a young country Christian at the university of the capital.

“Hi, my name is fulano and I’m from the state.

  • My whole family is from there and we are members of the Church of Jesus.
  • A church that has its symbols.
  • That seeks to live what God desires for us.
  • There I worked a lot.
  • I felt part of this group.
  • I participated in the routine.
  • What was the quality of camps.
  • Meetings.
  • Outings.
  • Studies.
  • Etc.
  • ?How I love this place! But now I passed the entrance exam.
  • I’m here in the capital.
  • But my family stayed there.
  • My church stayed there.
  • Most of my friends stayed there.

However, now I have to concentrate on my studies, because that’s exactly why I came here; Now I belong in college!I’m even attending a new church here! I only go there, because my church is inland, here the focus is in the studio, and when I return to my visiting city, I will visit my church and work one way or another.

It is likely that over time I will reduce my travels to see my parents, because during the long holidays there are always shows and schedules here and I will go with my new friends.

It will arrive on Sunday and I will not go to EBD because I am too late on Saturday. I may go at night, but alas! I remembered that I had readings and articles to deliver.

In college, some people invited me to participate in a Bible study group, but I admit it takes time and I have to focus on my studies. They’re my parents now. They even walk, wondering if I go to church all the time, if I pray and make my devotions?I want to live a little independently (except when I need money).

I even admit that some things in the Bible no longer make much sense. I even have a teacher who speaks out against it, and who has?Arguments.

Yesterday they called me friends from my old church and told me that they were praying for me and that they missed me, they said that they had seen me drinking in Instagram stories and were worried, even I love them, but I don’t know, I think everyone has to take care of their life, because what they have most in the church are hypocritical people.

I also need to tell you, have I met someone, does it make me happy?Oh, I know, now you’re going to ask if she’s a Christian, what a pain!Even you?

Excuse me, I really need to study and then I have roles to meet with friends.

He just read about the involution of a young Christian in college. This is serious!

“According to IBGE 2010, we are about 42 million evangelicals and about 2,100,000 have between 15 and 17 years. However, when we look at young people between the age of 18 and 19, that number drops to 800,000.

This figure remains optimistic, some say that out of ten young people, seven are dering, perhaps that figure is real when you think about 20, 21 and 22 years, the number of young people who get lost when going to college is very large. And for this reason, we need to think about how parents, home churches, and churches near universities can help work with these young people.

Unfortunately, many go to college with the mindset that they should focus solely on their studies and not get involved in ministries in churches close to them (even if they attend). Another problem is that many also understand that Christianity is something to experience only in the church, so they end up living Christianity on weekends and focusing only on studies during the week.

However, Christianity is something that is lived, a new birth, and that is why it must be demonstrated in all areas of life, for now it is no longer me who lives, but Christ lives in me, Galatians 2:20.

Therefore, the young Christian, when he goes to college away from home, must attend a local church, study and bear witness to the name of Christ wherever he is, that is, he must live for the glory of God.

So whether you eat, drink, or do anything else, do it all for God’s glory. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Many young people leave their cities to study in other cities, and when they arrive, they will live in republics, (many of them with Christians, others will not), and in this place they will live for a few years. they even go to a local church, but they usually don’t become members because they understand that their churches are their hometown.

There is nothing wrong with all the love and affection they feel for their churches, but two important questions must be raised: the importance of being guided and exercising their gifts.

When leaving their churches, these young people often find themselves without pastoralism and can see their address only during holidays or holidays, so it would be important if they were framed in a closer direction.

Because? Suppose a young man is far from his parents and the original church, but he attends a church near the university, yet he lives in sin. In this case, how could the administration of this church take care of this young man while he is a Member of another church? And how could he be cared for by his original leadership, because he is far away and his leaders are often not even aware of what is going on?This is a very common problem!

But not only that. The importance of young people being members of a church near your university will likely provide you with some kind of help, such as prayer, emotional help, discipleship, spiritual help, help when unhealthy, and even inexpensive if necessary, as many of those when they arrive are just teenagers.

Grazing is very important, so here’s a word for parents

Encourage your children to become members of a good church near them. The encouragement of parents is very important, because many want to keep their children in their home church, thinking that one day they will return. They can even come back, but according to statistics, most of them won’t come back.

When they move, these young people leave their ministry in the local church for two reasons: first because they go to another city and second because many will use the excuse they need to concentrate on their studies, but something has to be clear. In conversion, it was in the donations of data to be made, even in college.

“All must exercise the gift they have received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its many forms. 1 Stone 4:10

God does not call Christians to stop, gifts must be exercised in a local church, so try to exercise the gifts God has given him, because he will be there for at least a few years.

We cannot place here only the exercise of gifts, but how important it is to participate young people in a local church, in their services, in communion, in prayer and in the fraction of bread.

“They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and fraternity, starting bread and praying. Acts 2:42

Young people should focus on their studies, because that’s what they went to college for, but a very common problem is that many focus entirely on studies, leaving out the department and testimony. When we were created by God, the Bible says that they were created in his image and likeness (Genesis 1:26).

The fact that man is in the image of God means that he is like God and represents him, so in a sense he must develop creation, such as: caring, caring for, governing, developing, representing the Creator. It also implies that we need to develop our intelligence.

When King Nebuchadnezzar invaded Israel, he ordered the arrival of some of the Israelites of the royal family and nobility; young people without physical flaws, good-looking, educated, intelligent, who dominated the different fields of knowledge and were trained to serve in the king’s palace, he would teach them Babylonian language and literature. ?(Daniel 1: 3. 4) Among these young cults were Daniel, Hananiah, Misael, and Azariah (Daniel 1:6), young cults that made a difference, and Daniel was the prime minister of Babylon.

So study, develop the best, do it for the glory of God!

However, there are many who come from afar, are delighted with the great city, with the ‘freedom’ they never had, and end up going wrong in the church and bearing a bad testimony, God calls us to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5. 13-16)

Christians are placed in different areas of life, between study, work, home, gymnasium, etc. , to bear witness to Jesus.

But, thinking of the University, there will be a heavy environment, where Christian ideas will be attacked by teachers and friends, they will see attacks on the traditional family, but still, God in his sovereignty places his children in this environment. Madureira said:

“If you’re in college, you’re both to resist and to submit. You are in a university hostile to the Kingdom of God, but God has put you there so that you can submit to Him and resist all that is against him. .

The university, in addition to a place of formation, is also a space where witness to Christ is given.

You, young man, who went to college, what was your attitude and your thinking?, don’t forget these three areas; Local Church, studies and testimonies.
