A at the Brazilian Evangelical Church

Brazil’s evangelical explosion and digital growth appear to be largely characterized by the satisfaction of the interests of its “consumers. “

I daresay that the environment of free competition in some Christian communities in Brazil has led its leaders to adopt strategies similar to those used by marketing companies, seeking to offer their “products”. market, as seen in the business mindset. In these Christian communities, the preference of the faithful determines the dynamics of religious discourse and related practices. In addition, Brazilian evangelism has experienced a serious theological crisis.

  • When I think of the reality of the Church.
  • I am deeply concerned about the course of the Christian faith in our country.
  • For what we see.
  • Almost in general.
  • Is an egocentric.
  • Hollow and selfish spirituality.
  • In addition to hundreds of?Pastors? driven by greed and power.
  • Who tirelessly seek ever more impressive titles.
  • Apostolization? Modern life has made many of these little kings.
  • Who in Nababestian ceremonies are crowned as such.
  • There have been cases like that of an “apostle” who.
  • In a ceremony full of pomp.
  • Was crowned receiving as a symbol of his apostolic authority a beautiful and precious ring of diamonds.

Without a doubt, part of the Brazilian Evangelical Church is seriously ill, I understand that if there is no change of course in the coming years we are at serious risk of spiritual bankruptcy, I feel that we can no longer bear the Manicheanism and dualism promoted by the gurus of the “spiritual battle”; It is not possible for us to consider as normal the follies of the prophets of “positive confession,” who, by personal revelation, enslaved Christ’s flock with doctrines that were never taught in the Bible. Can’t we support human inventions anymore, and is there creativity for them?torment God’s people, placing heavy burdens on them.

Unfortunately we live in a time of doctrinal mixing, where evangelical cults, rather than relying exclusively on Scripture, do so on mystical and syncetic experiences, in fact, what determined the success of service was no longer the preaching of the Word but the taste of the “consumer”. Unfortunately, the church preaches what is popular, offering people what they want to hear.

Well, maybe you’re wondering this: what to do, is there still hope for the battered Brazilian church, is there an antidote that can be applied effectively in our Christian communities?

I guess. In fact, I honestly believe there’s a cure for all this. I believe with all my soul that if we return to the scriptures, making them our only rule of faith and rediscovering the ancient doctrines taught by reformers, he may experience a radical change in the life and history of the Brazilian Evangelical Church.

The famous preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon declared his aspiration for a renewal of the ancient doctrines as follows: 1

We want a renewal of the old doctrines. We do not know of any biblical doctrine that, today, has not been carefully damaged by those who should defend it; There are many doctrines precious to our souls that have been denied by those whose job it is to proclaim them. for me, we need an awakening to the old gospel preaching, like that of Whitefield and Wesley. The Scriptures must become the infallible foundation of all Church teaching; the fall, redemption, and regeneration of men must be presented in undeniable terms.

Dear reader, despite Brazilian inconsistencies, I still believe in the Brazilian Evangelical Church. Yes! I believe that the rediscovery of old doctrines could lead to a renewal in our country never before known.

Therefore, as I wrote the book Agora Reform, I did so with a sorry heart and tears in my eyes, I love my Lord’s church, and I wholeheartedly desire to see her glorify the one who saved me.

I deeply believe that if the Brazilian Church returns to the doctrines of grace, rated the scriptures at the expense of tradition and experience, we will experience what the peoples and nations of the past have experienced in their history.

And do you think that God can bring an awakening to our lands?

In this book, Renato Vargens discusses the neopentecostal movement that takes place today in Brazil, exposing and contextualizing its mysticisms, errors and distortions of the solid biblical doctrine. As happened in the sixteenth century, Reforma Agora aims to call on evangelical churches to return the only reference that should guide the life of the Christian, the Holy Scriptures.
