5 Ways to Bless Your Workplace

Before working on my current job, I was a cook for five years in an Italian restaurant. If you’ve ever worked in the catering industry, you know it can attract a lot of interesting and diverse employees. I never thought I could be in a more stimulating professional environment to share and live my faith. Although my current work is very different from that of a restaurant (I work in a big company), I have come across a new set of challenges to live my faith at work. The truth is that there are always difficulties in transmitting the gospel message in a fallen world, regardless of context.

The business world has a unique layer of professionalism, ethics and ownership, but in reality, the essence of companies’ daily work can be quite difficult. There are thousands of moral riddles that arise in an office. tempted to chat and engage in malicious conversations when others are not present. Many face difficulties with the opposite sex. The challenge for Christians is to properly represent the gospel in any job.

So how do we represent Jesus in the workplace? Here are five ways to decorate your workplace.

1. Be brave, but intelligent. Consider Paul’s courage before Felix in Acts 24 or Jesus’ words about being brought before rulers and kings in Matthew 10, even if we work, we are never exempt from the call in our lives to value him; However, we must be intelligent and always remember passages such as 1 Peter 2. 13: “Let every human institution be soothed because of the Lord. “At work, we are subject to our bosses and company executives. So be brave, but always remember where you are.

2) Take risks. I know that this point, in a way, contradicts the precedent; but Christian life is based on this tension between risk and prudence. I’m a relational evangelist, which means I like to make a kind of friendship and then talk about Jesus. I’m rarely that guy, who says, “Can I introduce you to Jesus?”My temptation is never, in fact, to speak of Jesus or to do so in a gentle way. Risk a friendship, risk a promotion, risk “not fitting in,” or even risk your job if God calls you to make such a sacrifice. Of course, we don’t want to be reckless simply because we’re reckless.

3. Pray for your enemies. Get into the habit of praying for people you don’t seem to like, who you don’t get along with, or who always seem to have something sarcastic to say about you, it’s incredibly difficult, so you have to rely you’ll also find that God serves you even as you pray. Pray for them, for their families, for their children. More importantly, pray for your relationship with Jesus.

Use your gift(s). I’m the teacher/pastor type. I usually enter a mode of teaching or pastoral care at some point during my faith meetings with my colleagues. The church remains the church, both gathered and scattered. As we work, we remain parte. de the scattered church, and in the church we are called to use our gifts to build the body. Pray about it and find a way to use your gift(s). Start a Bible study; Start a prayer group Write people’s prayer requests and pray for them; Give your time, talents or treasures to those who need it. Do whatever it takes to be a minister of the gospel of reconciliation (2C 5. 18-20).

5. Work hard. Be punctual, take care of your work, follow the rules, be productive and help others. Of course, disbelievers can also be good employees. What sets us apart is really captured in the family codes of many epistles. “Servants, be sumissive, yet, fear your master, not only if you are good and reasonable, but also toward the wicked?(1Pe 2. 18). We must be that freelancer we work for, no matter the conditions and/or whether we like work or No. By sharing these sufferings of Christ, however light, we can value Christ by working hard with integrity. Never let laziness or growls be your business card.

God bless us as we seek to serve and value Christ in all areas of our lives!

“To which God wanted to make known the richness of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, that is, Christ in you, the hope of glory; that we proclaim, warning each one and teaching each one wisely, so that we may present every man perfect in Christ; for this reason I also fight, striving as much as possible, according to his efficacy that works effectively in me (Cl 1,27-29).
