5 steps to integrate theology into your ministry

1) Soak up your preaching and conversations with biblical truths.

If, as Paul says, these Old Testament stories have been given to us as examples, then we must use them this way. When talking to deachos, elders, students, or any other group in the church, learn to work on biblical stories and show how they apply to the choices of everyday life.

  • Do not attach yourself to your plan of preaching in the name of fidelity.
  • So rigidly that you end up failing to declare the truth in important events that impact or affect the sensitivity of your congregation.
  • The death of a local teenager.
  • The closure of the largest employer.
  • Or a national tragedy of September 11.
  • Require biblical answers to questions in everyone’s mind.
  • Show them how The Word of God approaches this type of event and how the gospel is the ultimate need.

Being in the ministry means learning to live with people’s frustration. Sometimes you’ll really let them down because of their faults and failures, and other times they’ll have unrealistic expectations. If you build your ministry on yourself and your abilities, this disappointment?Yours and theirs will be traumatic. If, on the other hand, you show them that Jesus is the only one disappointed, that our hope is in him and that only he is our standard and our strength, then his hope rests only on Christ. his attributes, his grace and his truth. We see more of God’s glory in Christ than Moses has seen in Sinai. Jesus is charming and he is ours.

Just as all Scripture is about Christ, so is life and knowledge. Ministry is usually done in the context of suffering, tragedy, sin, and the effects of sin. In each of these situations, comfort the wounded with the comforting words of true pastoral affection, but find a way to see how the Gospel addresses this kind of situation with redemption, salvation, forgiveness, and resurrection.

If you want a church to be imbued with the truth, stay there and walk in life with it. It takes time to lay the groundwork and more time to build the superstructure. Raise his life. Show people what a gospel-centered marriage and family are like. Preach the Word? The two wills, the law and the gospel, all genders, creation, fall, desire, fulfillment, consumption. of six consecutive shepherds, but they can do so through which they stay and live in community with them.
