Every once in a while someone asks me:
Pastor, what’s wrong with taking my kids to a children’s carnival dance?Do you see any mistakes in that? My wish is that you have a little fun, just, by the way, what’s your opinion on the subject?
- Now I know that the motivation of parents to take their children to a children’s dance is the best possible.
- However.
- I see that in doing so.
- Parents make a very serious mistake.
Here are five reasons why I think parents shouldn’t take their kids to a carnival dance:
1- Carnival is an ungodly feast that promotes absolutely antagonistic concepts and values to the Word of God.
2- Carnival is a promiscuous and immoral feast where adultery, immorality and sexual irresponsibility are exalted.
3- The carnival is a social holiday where love, life is relativized? And abandoned relationships.
4- Carnival is the feast of the flesh where human nature has fallen and the apostate feeds on all kinds of sins and iniquities.
5- Carnival, its content, its values and its sinful state confront the holiness of God, in no way glorifying the name of Christ.
As you read these reasons, you may be thinking: Ah, what nonsense!I don’t agree with that, especially since I intend to take my kids to a children’s dance and not to an adult dance.
Well, I answer by saying
Today you take your children, tomorrow they will go alone. And there’s no point in telling them that carnival is promiscuous, immoral and wicked, even because, they’ll respond by saying, “Well, if that’s it, why when they were kids they took us to the children’s dances?”
Therefore, before taking your children to the “feast of the flesh,” think carefully and think about whether with this attitude you will glorify God, as well as contribute to the building up of those entrusted to them by the Lord.
