Our hunger for God should not be limited to our cupboards. The more we know Him and the more we rejoice in all that He is to us in Jesus, the more our joy in Him surpasses our personal experience and seeks to reproduce it in others. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to take prayer seriously: to seek and ask for the same things we seek to ask for ourselves.
Is it a beautiful miracle when we invest in each other’s sanctification as much as we invest in ours? And, of course, the best place to start is with our wives.
So, men, here are ten reasons to pray for your wives
1. God, are you her God?, the treasure that completely satisfies her and her everything. Make him desire your exclusive supremacy in all your affections (Psalm 73:24-25).
2. Does your faith increase? Give him a confidence as strong as a rock that your incomparable power is exercised alone and always for his absolute good in Christ (Romans 8:28-30).
Is your joy intensified?(Exodus 33: 14-15). )
4. Does your heart soften? Save it from cynicism and make it sensitive to your presence in the most complicated details of the dirty layers and the multitude of other needs you have called her to meet (Hebrews 1:3).
5. Does that make you valuable to your church? Establish relationships in your life that challenge and encourage you to follow in the footsteps of gospel truth, and make you love congregational meetings, the Lord’s table, and the daily life of the body (Mark 3:35).
6. Do you give him wisdom? It makes him see dimensions of reality that I would neglect and accompanies his vision of a still, still spirit that feels safe and celebrated (1 Peter 3:4).
7. Maintain your health? Continue to declare your health gift and stay away from the presumption; it is a grace bought with blood (Psalm 139:14).
8. Does this multiply your influence? Encourage and deepen their impact on our children, give a sweet look at these fruits. It pours out love on our neighbor and awakens creative ways to compromise them for Christ’s sake.
9. Does this make her hear your voice? To read the Bible and accept it as it really is, your Word?Your own Word to her wherever she lives, full of grace, power, and all that needs to know life and mercy (2 Peter 1:3).
10. Can she join him, can she be a new creature in him, can she be your daughter in him?More in Adam and died in sin; but now in Christ and live for you, forever (Romans 6:11).
