10 Biblical Principles to Honor God in Finance

Money is an issue normally controversial in the Christian community. On the one hand, we have the false teachers who are characterized in the scriptures by greed (2Pe 2; 1Ts 2. 5; etc. ). His messages focus on money and material prosperity and his goal is to accumulate treasures in this world. On the other hand, many who reject such teachings end up separating finances from spirituality, as if God were not equally sovereign in our wallets.

The Christian is called to work to have what (1) he provides to himself and his family (1 Ts 4,11-12; 2 Ts 3,10-12; 1 Tim 5:8), (2) helping to sustain the true ministers of the Word and the spread of the gospel (1Co 9; Gal 6; Phil 4:18) and (3) serve others and help those in need, especially those in the family of faith (Gal 6:10; Ephesians 4:28; 1 Timothy 6: 17- 18; James 1:27).

  • Therefore.
  • We must be good administrators of the resources God has put in our hands.
